Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and guidance on various immigration matters, including removal defense, family-based immigration, and humanitarian relief.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Conduct client consultations to assess case details and establish a legal strategy.
  • Prepare and file a wide array of immigration petitions, including those related to family-based immigration, EOIR proceedings, detained cases, and citizenship.
  • Review, edit, and finalize immigration applications and petitions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations to stay informed on changes to immigration law and procedures.
  • Visit detention centers to conduct intakes and provide legal representation to detained individuals.
  • Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for testimony in court or before USCIS.
  • Draft legal briefs, motions, and other documents to support clients’ immigration cases.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates and ensure all case-related matters are handled efficiently.

Requirements:

  • At least 1-4 years of experience in Immigration Law, with a proven track record of case management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with clients and colleagues.
  • A collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to handle a high caseload and prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, EOIR, Detained Cases, and USCIS applications is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Case Management Software is a plus.

Education:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in the state of Florida.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Florida State Bar.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage a caseload and work independently.
  • Detail-oriented with the capacity to maintain high standards of legal practice.
