Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney to join its growing legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in defending employers, insurance carriers, and self-insured employers in workers' compensation claims. This role involves managing a caseload, overseeing all aspects of the litigation process, and providing high-quality legal representation to clients in a supportive and dynamic work environment.

Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of workers' compensation defense matters from inception to resolution.
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Represent clients at hearings, depositions, and mediations.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, adjusters, witnesses, and opposing counsel.
  • Develop case strategies and provide timely updates to clients.
  • Attend court appearances and advocate for clients in administrative hearings and trials.
  • Stay current with workers' compensation laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar license in California with good standing.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in workers' compensation defense.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and client service abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize multiple tasks.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
