A law firm in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking an Entry-Level Immigration Attorney to join their team. Location:

Duties:

  • Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals
  • Manage a caseload and track client progress
  • Conduct intake with detained individuals at centers
  • Prepare a variety of immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions
  • Review immigration applications/packets and make necessary adjustments
  • Work with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on changes in immigration law
  • Conduct consultations with potential clients, assess their needs, and develop immigration strategies
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS testimony
  • Provide legal analysis to clients regarding potential benefits of their cases
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases

Requirements:

  • 0-3 years of experience in Immigration Law
  • Team-oriented, open to collaboration and strategizing with colleagues
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to move legal cases forward and manage a caseload effectively
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications
  • Experience with Case Management Software preferred

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active state bar membership

Skills:

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to analyze complex legal issues and develop strategic solutions
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Client-focused with a commitment to providing exceptional service
  • Ability to handle a high-volume caseload and meet deadlines
  • Experience with immigration applications and legal briefs is a plus
