Job Overview:
A reputable law firm is looking to hire an experienced Tax Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience. The successful candidate will join the firm’s transactional tax team, focusing on matters related to fund formation, REITs, joint ventures, private equity, and M&A. Candidates with a solid background in general transactional tax law, including M&A and partnership issues, are encouraged to apply. Duties:

  • Provide comprehensive support in tax aspects of M&A transactions, partnership matters, and fund formation.
  • Handle tax issues related to REITs, joint ventures, and private equity transactions.
  • Draft and review tax provisions, agreements, and related documents.
  • Conduct legal research and provide tax advice to clients.
  • Work closely with other departments to integrate tax solutions into broader transactional matters.
  • Assist with compliance and reporting for complex tax matters.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in transactional tax law.
  • Strong exposure to M&A, partnership taxation, and fund formation.
  • Must be licensed and in good standing in the state where practicing.
  • Previous experience at a law firm is preferred, but candidates with large accounting firm experience will be considered.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • LL.M. in Taxation or equivalent significant coursework in tax law is preferred.

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in the relevant state.
