Litigation Attorney

Job Overview

Duties

• Handle cases from preparation of responsive pleadings through to trial.
• Propound and respond to discovery.
• Review and summarize medical records.
• Conduct depositions of plaintiffs, witnesses, and experts.
• Attend court hearings and proceedings.
• Prepare motions, oppositions, and case status reports for carriers.
• Assist in trial preparation and support trial team efforts.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in civil litigation.
• Prior insurance defense experience is preferred but not required.
• Self-starter with the ability to independently manage a caseload.
• Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong litigation skills, including discovery, depositions, court appearances, and trial preparation.
• Excellent oral advocacy and written communication skills.
• Ability to work under the supervision of a partner while handling a caseload independently.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active CA State Bar License.
