Job Overview:

A reputable law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join its team in Plantation, FL. This role will involve managing all aspects of cases in state and federal court, from pre-trial preparation to trial, ensuring effective case management, client interaction, and legal advocacy.

Location:

  • Plantation, Florida

Duties:

  • Meet with clients to discuss legal matters and file lawsuits.
  • Propound and respond to written discovery requests.
  • Schedule and attend fact witness depositions.
  • Retain experts and attend expert depositions.
  • Schedule and attend all hearings and court appearances.
  • Prepare and attend mediations.
  • Prepare cases for trial and represent clients in court, leading trials to verdict.
  • Prepare and file appropriate post-trial motions.
  • Participate in file audits, litigation attorney meetings, and trial clinics.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in Florida and in good standing.
  • Minimum of 2 jury trials as first chair with a proven track record of success.
  • Ability to manage a large and active caseload from filing through verdict.
  • Experience in providing direction and guidance to a team of support staff.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and research abilities.
  • A commanding presence in the courtroom and eagerness to try cases.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active Florida State Bar membership in good standing.

Skills:

  • Extensive experience with jury trials, particularly as first chair.
  • Strong legal research and analysis skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and mediation skills.
  • Ability to handle complex legal matters with a strategic approach.
  • Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with clients, colleagues, and support staff.
