A law firm seeks an experienced securities attorney to join its Investment Funds Group in Chicago, IL. This professional-track position (non-partnership) is suited for an attorney with extensive expertise in structured securities offerings, particularly within the commercial real estate sector. The role includes representing a diverse clientele, such as REITs, public and private real estate companies, and institutional investors, across a range of transactions including acquisitions, dispositions, restructurings, financings, and property developments.

Duties:

  • Oversee and manage structured securities offerings, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and client objectives.
  • Represent clients in various real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, restructurings, complex financings, and development projects.
  • Provide strategic legal advice on real estate finance and structuring of investment portfolios to support client goals.
  • Collaborate effectively with clients, partners, and multidisciplinary teams to facilitate smooth transaction processes.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support complex financial transactions and regulatory compliance.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 years experience managing structured securities offerings, with a focus on commercial real estate law.
  • Strong background in real estate finance, acquisitions, and dispositions.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and best practices in real estate investment structuring.
  • Previous experience with a prominent law firm, preferably within the AmLaw 100.
  • Licensed to practice law in Illinois.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in good standing with the Illinois State Bar.
