Duties:

• Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA).
• Provide strategic advice on immigration law and guide clients through the complexities of the immigration process.
• Manage a diverse caseload and ensure cases are progressing promptly.
• Conduct intake meetings with detained individuals at immigration centers.
• Prepare and file various immigration applications, including removal defense, family-based petitions, and humanitarian cases.
• Review immigration application packets and make necessary adjustments.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on updates and changes in immigration law.
• Advise potential clients on immigration strategy and next steps.
• Develop and prepare clients and witnesses for hearings, court appearances, or USCIS interviews.
• Provide legal analysis and assess potential case outcomes.
• Draft and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases.

Requirements:

• 1-4 years of experience in Immigration Law.
• Admission to the Texas Bar.
• Strong ability to manage multiple cases efficiently and meet deadlines.
• Interpersonal skills and an ability to work well in a collaborative environment.
• Experience with a range of immigration matters such as family-based petitions, EOIR cases, detained cases, and citizenship applications.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
• Proficiency with case management software is a plus.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the Texas Bar is required.
