Entry Level Immigration Attorney

A law firm seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Immigration Attorney to join their team in Fresno, CA. This position offers an exceptional opportunity for a newly admitted attorney to gain hands-on experience in immigration law, working alongside experienced legal professionals in a collaborative environment. Duties:

• Provide expert legal counsel on various immigration-related matters, developing strategic solutions tailored to clients' needs
• Represent detained and non-detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals
• Oversee and manage a caseload of diverse immigration cases from initiation to resolution
• Conduct intake interviews with detained clients at immigration detention facilities
• Prepare and file immigration petitions, including removal defense and family-based applications
• Review and edit immigration documents and applications for accuracy and completeness
• Collaborate with law enforcement, government agencies, and community organizations on immigration-related legal matters
• Meet with prospective clients to assess their immigration needs and formulate effective legal strategies
• Guide clients and witnesses in preparing for court or USCIS testimony
• Analyze complex immigration issues and provide clients with clear and actionable legal advice
• Draft legal briefs, motions, and other documents for a variety of immigration cases

Requirements:

• 0-3 years of experience in immigration law, including relevant internships or volunteer experience
• Ability to work effectively in a team, collaborating with associates and legal staff
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues
• A proven track record of handling and progressing legal cases forward efficiently
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required
• Familiarity with case management software is a plus

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active bar admission (law graduates awaiting admission will be considered)

Skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• In-depth knowledge of immigration law, including family-based petitions, removal defense, and other USCIS applications
• Proficiency in legal research and drafting legal documents
• Experience with case management software preferred
