Duties and Responsibilities

  • Case Management: Handle and litigate cases related to managed care and health care issues, ensuring effective representation and case progress.
  • Client Interaction: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, offering legal advice, coordinating case activities, and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Manage and oversee regulatory and compliance matters, ensuring adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
  • Legal Documentation: Conduct comprehensive legal research, draft and review legal documents including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Litigation Strategy: Develop and implement litigation strategies, collaborating with senior attorneys and other associates.
  • Representation: Represent clients in court proceedings, arbitration sessions, and settlement negotiations.
  • Coordination: Coordinate with other associates and support staff to manage cases and streamline legal processes.
  • Legal Updates: Stay current with changes in managed care and health care regulations to provide informed legal counsel.

Requirements

  • Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Certification: Active membership in good standing of the California State Bar.
  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience in law firm or relevant in-house settings, focusing on complex commercial litigation and arbitration.
  • Specialization: Managed care or health care experience is required.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent writing, research, analytical, and verbal communication skills.
    • Proven ability to handle multiple cases and manage regulatory or compliance matters.
