Job Overview: A law firm in Washington, DC, is seeking an Associate Attorney with 2-5 years of experience to join their dynamic team. The Associate Attorney must demonstrate outstanding writing, oral communication, and analytical skills, along with top academic credentials. The candidate should also exhibit an ability and desire to think creatively about interesting, difficult, and often novel problems.

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research on tax law and related areas to provide accurate and timely advice.
  • Handle strategic and private equity mergers and acquisitions transactions, capital markets activities (including spin-offs and IPOs), investment fund formation, and real estate matters.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and other transactional documents.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners to develop legal strategies and solutions for clients.
  • Provide legal counsel and guidance to clients on various complex legal issues.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, hearings, and other legal proceedings as needed.
  • Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations that may impact clients.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of experience as an attorney.
  • Class-year-appropriate understanding of the technical aspects of tax law with strong research abilities.
  • Experience in strategic and private equity mergers and acquisitions transactions, capital markets, investment fund formation, and/or real estate matters.
  • Outstanding writing, oral communication, and analytical skills.
  • Top academic credentials from a reputable law school.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the State Bar.

Skills:

  • Proficient in legal research and analysis.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Ability to think creatively and solve complex legal problems.
