A respected law firm in San Antonio, TX is seeking a skilled Immigration Attorney with experience in EOIR (Executive Office for Immigration Review) proceedings. This role is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated legal professional to manage a diverse caseload, advocate for clients in removal proceedings, and work collaboratively within a seasoned legal team. Duties

  • Represent clients in removal proceedings before Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals

  • Conduct legal intakes, including on-site visits with detained individuals

  • Explain complex immigration concepts and advise clients on strategic options

  • Prepare and submit a range of immigration applications, including family-based petitions and defensive filings

  • Review application packets and provide necessary revisions for completeness and accuracy

  • Draft legal briefs, motions, and supporting documentation for a variety of immigration cases

  • Guide clients and witnesses in preparation for hearings and USCIS interviews

  • Conduct consultations and develop tailored legal strategies for each case

  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on immigration matters

  • Manage case deadlines, maintain detailed case files, and coordinate with support staff

Requirements

  • 1 to 5 years of experience in immigration law, specifically EOIR and removal defense

  • Proven track record of managing and advancing legal cases independently

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Collaborative and team-focused approach

  • Experience handling family-based petitions, humanitarian applications, naturalization, and detained cases

  • Familiarity with USCIS procedures and EOIR processes

  • Proficiency with legal case management software preferred

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in any U.S. state (in good standing)

Skills

  • Oral advocacy and courtroom presentation

  • Legal research and writing

  • Case strategy development and client counseling

  • Time management and organization

  • Spanish language fluency is a plus
