Job Overview:
A law firm seeks a dedicated Associate Attorney to join its Bellevue office in a full-time, hybrid role. This position is ideal for a motivated attorney with 0-3 years of experience who is detail-oriented, organized, and possesses strong ethical values. The role supports multiple attorneys, primarily in real estate and civil litigation matters, including property disputes, construction litigation, land use, and creditor/debtor rights. The firm emphasizes collaboration, collegiality, and a focus on work-life balance, with a 1,500 billable hour requirement.

Duties:

  • Provide comprehensive support to senior attorneys throughout all phases of case management.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research on case law, statutes, and regulations.
  • Draft legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, briefs, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Prepare for and attend trials, hearings, and mediations.
  • Maintain regular client communication, providing updates and addressing concerns.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, depositions, mediations, and hearings under senior attorney supervision.
  • Develop legal strategies and assess conflicts within case matters.
  • Negotiate on behalf of clients and work collaboratively with co-counsels.
  • Organize and maintain client files and documentation from multiple sources.

Requirements:

  • 0-3 years of experience in civil litigation.
  • Strong understanding of state and federal civil litigation procedures and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in legal research, drafting, and writing.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Washington State.

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with NetDocs and Tabs3 is a plus.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor, with high ethical standards.
