Duties:

  • Represent clients in EOIR immigration proceedings, including both master and individual hearings.
  • Attend court hearings 2-3 times weekly in the DC/VA/MD area.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategies and complex legal issues.
  • Prepare legal documents, conduct case research, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of immigration law.
  • Engage in client consultations, guiding on immigration matters.
  • Independently manage a caseload in a fast-paced environment, ensuring timely case progress.
  • Demonstrate empathy and cultural awareness while working with clients from diverse backgrounds.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in immigration law, focusing on EOIR cases.
  • Active Bar license to practice law in any U.S. state (Virginia, Maryland, or Washington, DC, preferred).
  • Fluency in Spanish (preferred but not required).
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Comfortable with a hybrid work schedule, including required in-office time and court appearances.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. state; preference for licensure in Virginia, Maryland, or Washington, DC.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in immigration law, particularly in handling EOIR proceedings.
  • Strong legal research and document preparation skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with clients from diverse backgrounds.
