Job Overview:
A well-established law firm in Austin, TX, seeks a dedicated and driven Immigration Attorney to join its growing legal team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in advising clients on immigration matters, managing cases, and representing individuals in legal proceedings. Duties:

  • Provide strategic counsel on immigration matters to clients and present tailored legal solutions.
  • Represent clients, including both detained and non-detained individuals, in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Conduct client intakes, including visits to detention centers.
  • Prepare and review diverse immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for a variety of immigration-related cases.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on immigration law updates.
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS testimonies, developing comprehensive case strategies.
  • Conduct consultations with potential clients to assess their cases and recommend the best course of action.
  • Manage an independent caseload while maintaining consistent client communication and satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • 1-4 years of experience in Immigration Law.
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a team-oriented approach to collaboration.
  • Experience in family-based petitions, humanitarian relief, EOIR (Executive Office for Immigration Review) processes, citizenship applications, and USCIS-related matters.
  • Familiarity with case management software (preferred).
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred).

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in Texas.

Certifications:

  • Active and valid Texas Bar license in good standing.

Skills:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to craft compelling legal arguments.
  • High level of organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse client base and in high-pressure situations.
