Job Description:

Duties:

  • Handle various professional liability cases, including insurance coverage disputes, cyber/data breach incidents, and other professional liability matters.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy.
  • Draft, review, and revise legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, depositions, mediations, and arbitration.
  • Advise clients on legal issues, case developments, and potential outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure comprehensive case management.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws, regulations, and industry trends related to professional liability and insurance coverage.
  • Develop and implement case strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Manage client relationships, providing timely updates and addressing concerns or questions.
  • Participate in business development activities, including client presentations and networking events.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant legal experience
  • Interest in professional liability, insurance coverage, and cyber/data breaches.
  • Demonstrated expertise in handling complex litigation cases.
  • Proven ability to conduct detailed legal research and present findings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of professionalism and ethical standards.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the Connecticut State Bar.

Certifications:

  • Certification in Cybersecurity Law or Professional Liability Law is a plus but not required.

Skills:

  • Proficient in legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
