A law firm in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Junior Tax Associate Attorney with 0-3 years of experience in tax transactional matters. The ideal candidate will be involved in handling complex tax issues related to real estate, fund formation, and REITs. The role requires a strong interest in tax law, demonstrated analytical skills, and the ability to draft detailed legal documents. Candidates with a high level of academic achievement and those pursuing or having completed an LL.M. in Taxation are strongly encouraged to apply. Admission to the State Bar of California is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with transactional tax matters, including real estate transactions, fund formation, and REITs.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including memoranda and other forms of written advice related to tax transactions.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research on various tax-related issues.
  • Provide analysis on the tax implications of transactions and investments.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to develop and implement tax-efficient strategies.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Participate in client meetings and provide legal counsel on tax matters.
  • Stay informed about changes in tax laws and industry trends to provide up-to-date advice.

Requirements:

  • 0-3 years of experience in tax transactional matters.
  • Demonstrated interest in tax transactions, such as taking relevant courses in partnership tax and other tax-related subjects.
  • Preferred experience with partnership tax, investment funds, REITs, and/or real estate.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience drafting memoranda and providing written legal advice.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment while managing individual responsibilities.
  • High level of academic achievement from a reputable law school.
  • Pursuing or completed LL.M. in Taxation is strongly encouraged.
  • Admission to the State Bar of California is required.
