Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm in New York City is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with 3-4 years of experience to handle complex commercial litigation matters in both state and federal courts. The ideal candidate will have exceptional research, writing, and analytical skills, and experience with pleadings, motions, and discovery practice, including e-discovery. The role requires a strong academic background, the ability to work independently, and effective client interaction.

Duties:

• Handle complex commercial litigation matters in state and federal courts, from case inception through resolution.
• Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
• Manage discovery processes, including electronic discovery (e-discovery), document review, and production.
• Conduct legal research and prepare detailed memoranda and briefs.
• Develop and execute litigation strategies, working closely with senior attorneys and clients.
• Interface with clients to provide updates, gather information, and discuss case strategies.
• Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant case law and procedural changes.
• Work independently on cases while also collaborating with team members and clients.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admission to and good standing with the New York State Bar.
• 3-4 years of experience in commercial litigation, including experience with pleadings, motions, and discovery.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to handle e-discovery and manage large volumes of documents.
• Proven ability to work independently and interface effectively with clients.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with or current employment at an AmLaw 100 firm is a plus.

Education:

• JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar.
