Consumer Financial Services Attorney

A law firm seeks a talented and motivated Consumer Financial Services Attorney to join its litigation team in New York City. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of courtroom experience, with a focus on business, commercial, or financial services litigation. Duties:

• Represent clients in consumer financial services cases, including business, commercial, and financial litigation.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies and arguments.
• Provide legal counsel to clients on various matters related to consumer financial services law.
• Handle discovery processes, depositions, and other pre-trial matters.
• Participate in courtroom hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and build compelling arguments.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, opposing counsel, and court officials.

Requirements:

• 2-4 years of courtroom experience in business, commercial, or financial services litigation.
• Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Admission to the New York Bar; admission to the New Jersey Bar or other jurisdictions is a plus.
• Proven track record of handling complex litigation cases.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in New York (additional state admissions are a plus).

Skills:

• Strong legal research and writing skills, with an emphasis on litigation.
• Ability to analyze complex legal issues and apply them to case strategies.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience with legal software and case management systems is beneficial.
