Entry Level Immigration Attorney

Job Overview:
A reputable law firm is seeking a motivated and passionate Entry-Level Immigration Attorney to join their Phoenix, AZ office. Location:

• Phoenix, AZ

Duties:

• Explain complex immigration concepts and offer strategic solutions to clients.
• Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA).
• Manage and organize a caseload of immigration matters.
• Conduct client intake, including visits to detained individuals at immigration centers.
• Prepare and file immigration applications, including family-based petitions and removal defense.
• Review immigration applications and ensure they are complete and accurate.
• Stay informed about changes in immigration law and work with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations.
• Conduct consultations with potential clients and develop tailored strategies for their cases.
• Assist in preparing clients and witnesses for court hearings or USCIS interviews.
• Provide legal analysis to assess potential benefits and outcomes for clients’ immigration cases.
• Draft and submit legal briefs for a variety of immigration-related matters.

Requirements:

• 0-3 years of experience in immigration law.
• Ability to manage a caseload and move legal cases forward.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a client-centered approach.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Experience with family-based petitions, humanitarian relief, EOIR cases, detained cases, citizenship applications, and other USCIS filings.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required.
• Familiarity with case management software is preferred.
• A team player who collaborates well with colleagues and is open to learning and growing within the firm.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admitted to practice law in the state of Arizona (or pending admission).

Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of immigration law, including removal defense and family-based immigration.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to analyze and apply legal principles to complex immigration matters.
