Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney

A law firm in Westminster, CA, is seeking a Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney with 2-10 years of litigation experience handling California workers' compensation claims. The ideal candidate will be responsible for representing employers and insurance carriers in workers' compensation defense matters. This role requires proactive management of cases from assignment to resolution, strong organizational skills, research proficiency, and exceptional communication abilities. Familiarity with California WCAB rules and procedures is essential.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Represent employers and insurance carriers in workers' compensation defense matters throughout Southern California.
• Manage a caseload from assignment to resolution, ensuring proactive and efficient handling of cases.
• Appear at various WC Appeals Boards and handle hearings, trials, and appeals.
• Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents, including motions, briefs, and case filings.
• Develop and implement case strategies, including evaluating evidence and formulating legal arguments.
• Maintain accurate and detailed case files, ensuring compliance with WCAB rules and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
• Provide guidance and legal advice to clients on workers' compensation claims and defense strategies.

Requirements

• 2-10 years of litigation experience handling California workers' compensation claims.
• Active State Bar license and member in good standing with the California Bar.
• Strong familiarity with California WCAB rules and procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload efficiently from assignment to resolution.
• Excellent organizational, research, and communication skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
