A law firm is seeking an experienced Employment Litigation Associate Attorney to join their Woodbury, NY office. The ideal candidate will have 4-8 years of employment litigation experience, strong academic credentials, and excellent communication skills. This role involves developing legal strategies, drafting pleadings, handling depositions, and providing advice on various workplace law issues. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement legal strategies for employment litigation cases.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Argue motions in both state and federal courts.
  • Provide advice and counsel on workplace law issues, including employee relations, risk mitigation, ADA accommodations, employment agreements, reductions-in-force, and employment-related policies.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on complex litigation matters.
  • Independently manage a caseload, ensuring all deadlines and client needs are met.
  • Stay current with federal and state employment statutes and regulations.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admitted to the New York Bar and in good standing.
  • 4-8 years of employment litigation experience.
  • Familiarity with federal and state employment statutes.
  • Proven experience in developing legal strategies, drafting pleadings, taking/defending depositions, and arguing motions.
  • Capability to work independently and handle multiple priorities effectively.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in the state of New York.
