Job Title: Senior Personal Injury Litigation Attorney

Job Overview: A well-respected law firm in Bend, OR, seeks a highly experienced and dedicated Senior Personal Injury Litigation Attorney. Duties:

  • Case Management:

    • Oversee a personal injury litigation caseload, including cases involving motor vehicle accidents, slips and falls, and other injury claims.
    • Conduct comprehensive case evaluations, perform legal research, and initiate factual investigations.
    • Develop strategic case approaches and prepare cases for trial.
  • Depositions:

    • Conduct and defend depositions involving parties, witnesses, and experts.
    • Draft and respond to discovery requests, motions, and pleadings.
  • Trial Preparation and Litigation:

    • Represent clients in court proceedings, including pre-trial motions, hearings, and trials.
    • Present arguments, evidence, and witness testimony effectively.
    • Negotiate settlements and draft settlement agreements.
  • Client Interaction:

    • Build strong client relationships with clear and compassionate communication.
    • Keep clients informed on case progress and address questions or concerns.
  • Collaboration:

    • Work closely with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.
    • Participate in case reviews and strategy discussions.
  • Professional Development:

    • Remain current on personal injury law developments and participate in continuing legal education (CLE).

Requirements:

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years in legal practice, with at least 3 years focused on personal injury litigation.
    • Demonstrated expertise in conducting depositions and taking cases to trial.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in good standing with the Oregon State Bar.

Skills:

  • Client Communication: Proficient in verbal and written communication with strong client relations skills.
  • Research and Writing: Proven legal research and writing skills, with experience drafting persuasive motions and briefs.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and case management software.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement effective litigation strategies.
  • Ethical Integrity: Commitment to the highest standards of professional ethics.
  • Language Skills (Preferred): Proficiency in additional languages, especially Spanish.
