Job Overview: A law firm in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking an Immigration Associate Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in immigration law, with proficiency in drafting legal documents and motions, managing a caseload independently, and representing clients in court or before government agencies. Fluency in Spanish and excellent organizational and writing skills are essential. Knowledge of consular processes, including waivers, is preferred.

Job Duties:

  • Represent clients in court proceedings or before government agencies in matters related to immigration law.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents, including motions, petitions, and appeals.
  • Manage caseload, including scheduling and appearances in court or at agencies.
  • Communicate directly with clients, particularly Spanish-speaking clients, to provide legal counsel and updates on case progress.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of California or eligibility for admission by waiver or reciprocity.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience practicing immigration law, preferably in a law firm setting.
  • Fluency in Spanish is required to communicate effectively with clients.
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft clear and persuasive legal documents.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of consular processes, including waivers and visa applications.
  • Experience with client intake and case management software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
