A law firm seeks a dedicated and motivated Personal Injury Associate Attorney to join its growing team in Houston, TX. This position offers an excellent opportunity for both experienced attorneys and recent graduates who are awaiting their Texas Bar results. In this role, you will handle personal injury cases from start to finish, including pre-litigation and litigation tasks. Duties:

  • Manage personal injury cases, including car accidents, trucking accidents, and slip-and-fall incidents, with minimal supervision.
  • Oversee all stages of litigation, from case initiation to settlement, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Draft and respond to written discovery requests, file lawsuits, and prepare legal documents.
  • Conduct depositions, attend mediations, and represent clients in court hearings and trials (trial experience is a plus).
  • Develop and execute case strategies, collaborating with colleagues to ensure the best outcomes for clients.
  • Handle case settlements, and negotiations, and manage client communications throughout the litigation process.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases and meet strict deadlines.
  • Participate in continuous learning and training to develop legal skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in Texas or awaiting results from the Texas Bar Exam (newly licensed attorneys are welcome).
  • Strong understanding of personal injury law, including experience or willingness to learn about various personal injury cases.
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Effective deposition and motion practice skills.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus but not required.
  • Trial experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active or pending Texas Bar license.

Certifications:

  • Texas Bar license (or pending results).
