Job Overview:

A prestigious law firm in Sacramento, CA, is currently seeking an Entry-Level Immigration Attorney to join their dynamic team. The selected attorney will be responsible for managing a caseload, engaging with clients, and collaborating with a team of immigration professionals, all while contributing to the firm’s mission of delivering effective legal solutions.

Duties:

• Provide legal counsel and strategic advice on various immigration matters.
• Represent non-detained and detained individuals in immigration proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
• Oversee and manage a diverse caseload of immigration cases.
• Conduct client intakes at detention centers and provide legal guidance for detained individuals.
• Prepare and file immigration applications, including removal defense, family-based petitions, and other immigration-related filings.
• Review and modify immigration documents and petitions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations regarding changes in immigration law.
• Meet with clients to assess their immigration needs, develop tailored strategies, and provide advice on their legal options.
• Prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS testimony, ensuring thorough preparation and confidence.
• Draft and submit legal briefs for a variety of immigration cases.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Immigration Law.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload and progress legal cases effectively.
• Team-oriented with a collaborative approach to legal problem-solving.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
• Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian relief, EOIR, Detained clients, Citizenship, and USCIS applications is a plus.
• Experience with case management software is preferred.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California.

Certifications:

• Admission to the California State Bar is required.

• Knowledge of immigration law and procedures.
• Strong legal writing and research skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
