A law firm in Stockton, CA, seeks a skilled Criminal Defense Attorney with 2+ years of experience to manage a diverse caseload and provide expert legal representation. The ideal candidate will handle all aspects of criminal defense, including client interaction, pretrial hearings, trials, motions, witness interviews, legal research, and case management. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is preferred, along with strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative spirit.

Job Duties:

• Manage a caseload of criminal defense matters from intake to resolution.
• Advise clients on legal rights and strategize on case defenses.
• Draft legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and briefs.
• Attend and represent clients at pretrial hearings and court appearances.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analyze case precedents.
• Assess probable case outcomes and advise clients accordingly.
• Gather additional evidence and prepare arguments against prosecution charges.
• Prepare clients for depositions and trial appearances.
• Collaborate effectively with fellow attorneys and legal staff.
• Maintain detailed case files and documentation.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar of California (active and in good standing).
• 2+ years of experience practicing criminal defense law.
• Proven track record handling complex criminal cases at federal, state, and local levels.
• Strong courtroom presence and excellent litigation skills.
• Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines.
• Team player with a commitment to collaboration and supporting colleagues.
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish preferred.
