Duties:

  • Represent clients in IEP and 504 meetings, mediations, and due process hearings within the Special Education Division.
  • Handle school discipline cases, including Title IX investigations, suspension appeals, and hearing representation.
  • Conduct legal research, attend court hearings, and collaborate with senior attorneys to provide legal advice.
  • Assist clients in identifying legal solutions and determining the most suitable course of action.
  • Draft legal documents such as briefs, motions, pleadings, contracts, affidavits, and settlement agreements.
  • Work closely with clients, senior attorneys, and support staff to efficiently move cases toward resolution.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in special education law or school discipline matters.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with clients, staff, and all stakeholders.
  • Must have passed the Bar exam.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in the state of California.
