Job Overview:
An established law firm is seeking an experienced Finance and Restructuring Litigation Associate to join its Native American litigation team. This role offers the opportunity to represent tribes, tribal entities, and tribal members in complex legal issues surrounding tribal sovereignty, gaming, and self-determination. The position also involves litigating commercial and construction disputes. Location:

  • Princeton, NJ

Duties:

  • Represent tribes, tribal entities, and tribal members in litigation matters related to tribal sovereignty, gaming, and self-determination.
  • Handle complex commercial and construction disputes.
  • Manage litigation processes, including trials, depositions, hearings, and oral arguments.
  • Participate in administrative law matters, conducting legal research, and drafting motions.
  • Work collaboratively with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and ensure the best possible outcomes.
  • Provide legal guidance and maintain strong client relationships.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of litigation experience or a significant interest in Federal Indian Law and administrative law.
  • Trial, deposition, hearing, and oral argument experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage complex cases.
  • Excellent academic credentials with strong writing and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently while being an effective team player.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction(s).

Skills:

  • Strong litigation and trial experience.
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical abilities.
  • In-depth understanding of Federal Indian Law and related legal matters.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
