A law firm in Philadelphia, PA, is seeking an Immigration Lawyer to represent clients before USCIS and EOIR. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing immigration applications, waivers, and attending interviews with clients. Responsibilities include litigation before EOIR, handling deportation proceedings, and writing legal briefs, motions, and appeals. The position may also involve occasional guardianship and custody cases. Spanish fluency and experience with the PA and/or NJ bar are preferred.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in proceedings before USCIS, including preparing and submitting applications, waivers, and attending interviews with USCIS Adjudication Officers.
  • Litigate cases before the EOIR, including representing foreign nationals in deportation proceedings at preliminary and final hearings.
  • Draft legal briefs, motions, and appeals related to immigration and deportation matters.
  • Provide legal guidance and support to clients throughout the immigration process.
  • Prepare and review complex immigration applications and ensure all documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Collaborate with clients and other stakeholders to develop effective legal strategies for case resolution.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of immigration laws and regulations, including any changes affecting the practice.
  • Handle limited intersectional practice with guardianship and custody cases as needed.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in Pennsylvania; admission to the New Jersey bar is a plus.
  • Experience representing clients before USCIS and EOIR.
  • Proven track record of handling immigration applications, waivers, and deportation proceedings.
  • Strong litigation skills, including the ability to draft legal briefs, motions, and appeals.
  • Fluency in Spanish is preferred.
  • Some litigation experience is preferred.

  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong oral advocacy and client communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks effectively.
