Job Overview A law firm in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking a highly qualified Mid-Level Litigation Associate Attorney to join their dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in Hatch Waxman litigation, strong legal writing and communication skills, and the ability to participate in all stages of litigation. The role requires a solid academic background, and prior law firm experience, and offers the opportunity to work on complex commercial litigation cases. A technical degree in chemistry, biology, or a related field is preferred.Key ResponsibilitiesRepresent clients in Hatch Waxman and other complex commercial litigation matters.Draft, review, and edit legal briefs, pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.Manage all phases of litigation, including fact and expert discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis to support litigation strategies.Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal teams to develop case strategies.Attend court hearings, settlement conferences, and trials.Provide legal advice and client updates regarding case status, risks, and opportunities.Negotiate settlements when appropriate, seeking the best outcomes for clients.Stay current with changes in laws, regulations, and industry trends relevant to practice areas.RequirementsMinimum of 3+ years of experience in Hatch Waxman litigation or similar IP/Commercial litigation.Experience drafting legal briefs and handling all aspects of discovery, including fact and expert discovery.Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Active membership in good standing with the Utah State Bar (or eligibility to waive in).Strong understanding of patent and pharmaceutical litigation, particularly under the Hatch Waxman Act.Solid law firm experience with a demonstrated track record of handling complex legal cases.Preferred QualificationsA technical degree (e.g., chemistry, biology, or related field) is highly preferred.Clerkship experience is a plus.Skills and CompetenciesExceptional legal research, writing, and communication skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Ability to work both independently and within a team structure.Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships effectively.Proficiency with legal research tools and litigation software.EducationJuris Doctor (JD) required from an accredited law school.CertificationsActive Utah State Bar membership or eligibility for admission.Job LocationSalt Lake City, UTBenefitsMedical InsuranceDental InsuranceLife InsuranceDisability InsuranceVoluntary Insurance (including vision)401(k) PlanPaid Time Off (PTO)
