Job Overview: A prominent defense law firm is seeking a skilled Associate Attorney with experience in Medical Malpractice Defense for their Denver office. This role involves representing clients in a variety of medical malpractice and long-term care defense cases. The position is ideal for attorneys with 3 to 10 years of experience who are passionate about providing high-quality defense services and achieving favorable outcomes for clients.

Location:

  • Denver, CO

Duties:

  • Review and analyze medical records to develop strong case strategies for client defense.
  • Draft motions, attend hearings, and advocate for clients in court proceedings.
  • Prepare clients for depositions and attend both fact and expert witness depositions.
  • Draft detailed reports for various stages of the litigation process, including pre-trial and appellate reports.
  • Handle discovery processes, including drafting and responding to discovery requests and related motions.
  • Regularly appear in court to represent clients and work toward favorable case resolutions.
  • Take and defend depositions, utilizing thorough preparation and strong communication skills.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Colorado.
  • 3 to 10 years of experience in General Liability defense, with a focus on Medical Malpractice and/or Assisted Living/Long Term Care.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex legal matters.
  • Proficient in legal research, with excellent written and oral communication abilities.
  • Experience in drafting discovery-related motions and attending court appearances.
  • Skilled in taking and defending depositions for a variety of witness types.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership with the Colorado State Bar.

Skills:

  • Excellent research, writing, and case management skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills for handling multiple cases.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficient in managing case files and client interactions with professionalism.
