A law firm seeks a driven and detail-oriented Case Development Intake Attorney to join its team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing an assigned docket of cases, conducting thorough investigations, and assisting clients throughout the intake process. You will work closely with a case manager to gather crucial evidence, develop case strategies, and prepare cases for potential litigation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in personal injury law, excellent client service skills, and a commitment to achieving the best possible results for clients.

Duties

  • Investigate and develop personal injury and commercial cases.
  • Manage an assigned docket of approximately 50 cases, ensuring all cases are effectively developed.
  • Obtain accident reports, property damage photos, and witness statements, and perform criminal/social media investigations.
  • Secure medical records, driving history, and other documentation to support case development.
  • Communicate with clients, adjusters, and other parties involved in cases.
  • Prepare and submit status reports for clients and internal teams.
  • Prepare demand letters and act as a liaison between clients, management, and adjusters.
  • Coordinate property damage claims, ensuring timely processing and resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with firm policies and ethical/legal obligations.
  • Sign up new clients and manage the intake process for potential clients.
  • Maintain a high level of client communication, including regular status updates.
  • Manage and lead non-attorney staff, delegating tasks to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Handle after-hours client calls and out-of-office sign-ups as needed.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas, with good standing.
  • 0-3 years of experience in personal injury law, preferably with a focus on case development.
  • Previous experience in customer service or sales is a plus, including after-hours on-call availability.
  • Experience managing or supervising non-attorney staff.
  • Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Strong commitment to client service and achieving the best outcomes for clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Must be licensed to practice in Texas.

  • Strong analytical and legal research skills.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to motivate and lead support staff.
  • Effective multitasking and time management skills.
  • Emotional intelligence with the ability to manage client relationships.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
