Duties

  • Maintain and update client case files and correspondences.
  • Coordinate legal strategies and collaborate with team members.
  • Prepare and manage case filings, ensuring compliance with deadlines.
  • Review and edit applications for submission to USCIS.
  • Conduct research on legal issues, focusing on applicable statutes, case law, and agency decisions.
  • Stay informed of changes in immigration laws and policies.
  • Develop solutions to complex immigration legal questions.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the firm’s mission.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree or Master of Laws (LLM) from an accredited law school.
  • Active Bar license in good standing in any U.S. state.
  • 2-5 years of attorney experience in immigration law, with expertise in:
    • Family and humanitarian-based petitions
    • Asylum and removal defense
    • Crimmigration
  • Strong time management skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in work schedules.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Advanced computer skills with the ability to quickly learn new software applications.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is preferred but not required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or Master of Laws (LLM) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active Bar license in good standing in any U.S. state.

Skills

  • Knowledge and expertise in immigration law, particularly in family and humanitarian matters, asylum, and crimmigration.
  • Excellent time management, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
  • Strong research skills with the ability to analyze complex legal issues.
