A law firm seeks an experienced attorney to join its government practice group, focusing on representing school districts and special districts. The ideal candidate will have between 8 to 20 years of experience in public sector law, with a preference for those with a background in labor and employment law, particularly in employer-side negotiations and collective bargaining. Candidates should be based in or willing to relocate to the Denver metro area.

Duties

  • Represent school districts and special districts in a wide range of labor and employment matters.
  • Lead employer-side negotiations and collective bargaining efforts, advising clients on labor relations strategies.
  • Engage in legal work that includes drafting documents, reviewing contracts, and conducting labor-related negotiations.
  • Foster strong, ongoing relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met with excellence and responsiveness.
  • Attend meetings and negotiations, including some evening sessions, to support the firm's clients.
  • Provide expert legal counsel on a variety of public sector issues, with a focus on labor/employment law.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in the public sector or a related field, with a focus on labor and employment law.
  • Proven experience in employer-side labor negotiations and collective bargaining.
  • Strong commitment to providing exceptional client service and building lasting relationships with both clients and the community.
  • Willingness to be involved in client meetings, some of which may occur in the evenings.
  • Desire to work in a team-oriented environment, contributing to the growth and success of the firm.
  • Must either reside in the Denver metro area or be willing to relocate.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the State Bar in Colorado, or the ability to become admitted.
