Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a Mid-level Government Contracts Associate Attorney to join their team in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate should possess 3-5 years of experience in government contracts law, with a focus on bid protests, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and federal grant compliance.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and representation to clients on government contract matters.
  • Conduct legal research, analysis, and drafting of legal documents related to government contracts.
  • Assist in bid protests and other government contracts litigation and investigations.
  • Draft and negotiate government contracts, subcontracts, teaming agreements, and joint venture agreements.
  • Perform due diligence on government contracts and M&A transactions.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in government contracts law at a large or mid-sized national firm, government contracts boutique firm, or in a government role focusing on government contracts matters.
  • Experience with bid protests and familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and its supplements.
  • Experience counseling clients on FAR and other regulatory requirements.
  • Barred in the District of Columbia or eligible to waive upon start date.

Preferred Experience:

  • Federal court litigation experience, particularly in government contracts litigation and investigations.
  • Familiarity with CDA claims, FCA/whistleblower claims, and prime-subcontractor disputes.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Bar admission in the District of Columbia or eligibility to waive upon start date.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
