Job Title: Associate Attorney
Job Location: Woodsfield, Ohio (Hybrid)
Job Overview: A well-established law firm is seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney to join its team in Woodsfield, Ohio. This role is ideal for an entrepreneurial attorney focused on building a practice in an underserved geographic area or a practice area not currently covered by the firm. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative environment while managing their caseload and driving business growth.
Duties:
Client Advocacy: Represent clients effectively within the assigned geographic area or practice area, with support from a cross-functional team.
Matter Economic Projections: Accurately project the value of legal services, estimate fees and expenses, and create a master budget for communication with clients.
Clear Communication and Expectation Setting: Communicate financial obligations to clients clearly and manage retained funds to ensure sufficiency for anticipated legal work.
Litigation & Court Appearances: Regularly attend court hearings, trials, and client meetings to advocate for clients in litigation matters.
Case Management: Oversee legal cases in collaboration with a paralegal team, ensuring thorough documentation and efficient execution of legal strategies.
Negotiation & Dispute Resolution: Represent clients in settlement negotiations, mediation, and litigation to secure favorable outcomes.
Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Engage with professionals from other disciplines such as accountants, social workers, and mental health experts to support client matters.
Strategic Growth & Business Development: Proactively network, market, and engage with the community to grow the firm’s presence in litigation and transactional practices.
Requirements:
Juris Doctor (JD) and admission to the Ohio Bar.
Minimum of 3-5 years of litigation experience.
Proven track record in business development, networking, and client acquisition.
Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to manage time and tasks effectively.
Experience in managing high-pressure situations and organizing legal practices efficiently.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Comfortable using legal case management systems and remote collaboration tools.
Ability to travel occasionally for court hearings and trials.
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the Ohio Bar.
Certifications:
Admission to the Ohio State Bar (Required).
Skills:
