Insurance Defense Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in Dallas, TX is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Insurance Defense Associate Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will independently manage a litigation caseload, provide expert legal counsel, and ensure effective case management. Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage a litigation caseload, handling all aspects of insurance defense cases from inception to resolution.
  • Prepare and review legal documents including contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies and preparation.
  • Prepare for and attend hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings.
  • Provide legal counsel and recommendations to clients with guidance from senior associate attorneys as needed.
  • Analyze conflicts in legal matters and advise clients on effective solutions.
  • Negotiate settlements and represent clients in negotiations to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with shareholders, senior associates, paralegals, and clients to ensure efficient case handling and client satisfaction.
  • Maintain and organize client files, ensuring all information is current and accessible to other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of Texas.
  • 3-4 years of experience in litigating insurance defense cases.
  • Strong academic credentials with a track record of academic excellence.
  • Experience in analyzing, reviewing, editing, and drafting litigation documents.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with high-demand clients and meet their expectations.
  • Excellent logical reasoning, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Commitment to working ethically and in the best interest of clients.
  • Self-starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
