A law firm seeks a Litigation Attorney to join its team in Irving, TX. The ideal candidate will be licensed to practice law in Texas and have a strong background in representing public school districts and educational institutions. This role focuses on employment and tort litigation, governance, and student-related legal matters, including civil rights and constitutional law. Duties:

  • Represent public school districts and educational institutions in litigation matters involving employment issues, tort claims, governance, and student affairs.
  • Handle cases related to civil rights and constitutional law within the context of education.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance on governance issues, educational policies, and student-related matters.
  • Conduct legal research, and prepare briefs, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Advocate for clients in court proceedings, hearings, and settlement negotiations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop effective legal strategies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of education law and related legal developments.
  • Manage case documentation, ensuring thoroughness and attention to detail.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas.
  • Proven experience in litigation, especially in the areas of employment, torts, governance, and student issues.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analysis skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities, with experience in public speaking.
  • Experience working with school districts or governmental entities is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Texas State Bar.
