A law firm in Houston is seeking a Mid-Level Life Sciences Health Industry Associate Attorney with experience in health care regulatory matters. The candidate will be responsible for providing risk-based analyses, communicating legal advice to clients, and understanding their business objectives to offer practical compliance solutions. Collaboration with other teams, including FDA compliance, litigation, technology transactions, and health care privacy, is crucial. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Federal health care programs, reimbursement, billing compliance, internal and government investigations, False Claims Act litigation, medtech industry regulations, risk assessment, Anti-Kickback Statute compliance, and market access strategies.

 

Duties:

  • Communicate effectively with internal and external clients, providing clear and concise legal advice.
  • Conduct risk-based analyses of complex regulatory concepts and provide practical guidance to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Understand clients’ business objectives, operations, and strategies to offer creative and practical legal solutions.
  • Manage competing priorities and deadlines efficiently.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues specializing in FDA compliance, litigation, technology transactions, and health care privacy.
  • Handle health care regulatory matters including Medicare/Medicaid enrollment, reimbursement, billing compliance, internal and government investigations, False Claims Act litigation, medtech industry regulatory frameworks, risk assessment, Anti-Kickback Statute compliance, and market access strategies.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Texas Bar or eligibility for admission.
  • Must have experience in health care regulatory matters, preferably in a law firm or relevant industry setting.
  • Strong understanding of Federal health care programs, reimbursement issues, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

 

Certifications and Skills:

  • Admission to the Texas Bar or eligibility for admission.
  • Experience with health care regulatory matters, including Medicare/Medicaid, reimbursement, billing compliance, and Anti-Kickback Statute.
  • Familiarity with medtech industry regulatory frameworks and market access strategies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to provide strategic and practical legal advice.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in legal analysis and documentation.
