Job Overview:
A well-established personal injury law firm is seeking a full-time or part-time Associate/Trial Attorney to join its team. This role offers the opportunity to handle a variety of personal injury cases, including court appearances (mostly virtual), depositions, mediations/arbitrations, motion practice, client interaction, and trial preparation. The position is based in Westchester County, with most cases located in the four boroughs. Some remote work options are available. There is also the potential for future partnership for the right candidate.

Location:

  • Port Chester, NY

Duties:

  • Represent clients in personal injury matters, including court appearances, depositions, and mediations/arbitrations
  • Handle motion practice and analyze case files
  • Provide ongoing client communication and case updates
  • Prepare and manage legal documents, including motions and legal briefs
  • Assist with trial preparation and strategy
  • Appear in court for virtual and in-person hearings
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to manage a caseload
  • Contribute to case settlement negotiations
  • Maintain a high standard of professionalism and client service

Requirements:

  • Previous attorney experience in personal injury law (plaintiff’s experience preferred; defense considered)
  • Trial experience is required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with clients
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills
  • Strong verbal communication skills and courtroom presence
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admitted to the New York Bar
