Mid to Senior-Level General Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm in Houston is seeking a Mid to Senior-Level General Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney with 5+ years of experience. The ideal candidate should have graduated from a nationally recognized law school and possess strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills. They must be adept at researching and drafting pleadings and papers involving complex legal and factual issues, and demonstrate a strategic and analytical mindset. The candidate should be capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team, and exhibit high motivation and a strong work ethic. Admission to The Texas Bar is required.

Duties:

• Conduct legal research and analysis on complex commercial litigation matters.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Handle discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests.
• Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, and trials.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
• Develop litigation strategies and provide sound legal advice to clients.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from a nationally recognized law school.
• Admission to The Texas Bar in good standing.
• 5+ years of experience in general commercial litigation.
• Proven ability to research and draft pleadings and papers on complex legal issues.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team.
• Demonstrated strategic thinking and ability to handle multiple priorities.

Certifications and Skills:

• Admission to The Texas Bar.
• Experience in all phases of litigation from discovery through trial.
• Proficiency in legal research tools and databases.
• Ability to manage a caseload and meet deadlines effectively.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
