Job Overview: A law firm in McLean, VA is seeking a mid-level attorney with 2+ years of experience specializing in Workers’ Compensation and Employers’ Liability. The attorney will represent employers, restaurants, retail establishments, and corporations in defending against workers' compensation, liability claims, and other legal disputes. This role involves work in state and federal courts, as well as administrative tribunals, with cases spanning toxic tort claims, premises liability, commercial liability, motor vehicle-related injuries, and lien disputes.

Duties:

• Represent clients in workers' compensation and employers' liability cases.
• Defend clients in toxic tort claims and commercial liability disputes.
• Handle premises liability and motor vehicle-related property and injury claims.
• Draft and file legal documents including pleadings, motions, memoranda, and discovery responses.
• Conduct legal research and interpret complex legal issues.
• Attend court hearings, client meetings, and depositions.
• Maintain regular communication with clients.
• Work closely with other attorneys and legal support staff.

Requirements:

• Must be barred and licensed to practice law in Virginia.
• Minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience in workers' compensation and employers' liability.
• Strong research, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, detail-oriented, and well-organized.
• Experience managing multiple tasks and working with tight deadlines.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in the state of Virginia.
