A law firm in Braintree, MA, is seeking a skilled and experienced Civil Litigator specializing in Education Law. The ideal candidate will possess excellent writing and oral advocacy skills and have a strong background in education-related litigation. The firm values experience with cases involving students with disabilities, civil and constitutional rights, and labor issues.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in education-related litigation, including cases involving students with disabilities, civil and constitutional rights, and labor issues.
  • Provide legal counsel and advice to educational institutions and other clients on education law matters.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis.
  • Draft, review, and revise legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, and contracts.
  • Prepare for and attend court hearings, depositions, and trials.
  • Negotiate settlements and represent clients in mediation and arbitration.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to develop case strategies.
  • Maintain detailed and organized case files.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Stay updated on changes in education law, regulations, and court decisions.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Massachusetts State Bar and in good standing.
  • Federal court admission preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of meaningful civil litigation experience.
  • Experience with education-related litigation is highly valued.
  • Strong academic background.
  • Excellent writing and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Massachusetts State Bar.
  • Federal court admission is preferred but not required.
