Job Overview:
A growing law firm is seeking an experienced Attorney to join its practice with a focus on estate planning, elder law, and trust and estate administration. Location:

Duties:

  • Provide legal services in estate planning, elder law, and trust and estate administration.
  • Work with clients to create and implement estate plans tailored to their needs.
  • Advise on elder law issues, including guardianships, Medicaid planning, and long-term care planning.
  • Prepare legal documents, such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives.
  • Manage and administer trusts and estates, including probate matters.
  • Build and maintain client relationships through regular communication and exceptional service.
  • Communicate complex legal concepts in layman’s terms to clients.
  • Identify and resolve legal issues in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience in estate planning, elder law, or related fields preferred.
  • Familiarity with WealthCounsel and/or ElderCounsel is helpful.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage complex legal documents.
  • Client relationship-building skills and a client-first approach.
  • Ability to explain complex estate planning concepts in simple terms.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and aptitude for resolving issues efficiently.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to practice law in Michigan (or ability to gain admission).

Skills:

  • Strong writing and drafting skills for legal documents.
  • Excellent oral communication and client interaction abilities.
  • Problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload.
  • Client-focused mindset with a commitment to providing quality legal services.
