Litigation Associate

A law firm seeks a litigation associate to join its team in Saint Louis, Missouri. Duties:

• Assist senior attorneys in defending personal injury, property damage, and employment law cases.
• Engage in insurance coverage litigation, providing effective legal counsel and representation.
• Draft pleadings, discovery responses, and motions in preparation for litigation.
• Take depositions and handle direct communication with clients.
• Prepare cases for trial, including case strategy development and evidence presentation.
• Argue motions and represent clients before trial and appellate courts.
• Maintain accurate and organized case files and records.
• Communicate regularly with clients regarding case progress and developments.

Requirements:

• Strong litigation experience.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, while collaborating effectively with a team of attorneys.
• Willingness to take on increased responsibility and engage in hands-on case preparation.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in Missouri.

Skills:

• Proven ability to draft legal documents, take depositions, and handle motions.
• Strong courtroom skills and experience arguing cases before trial and appellate courts.
• Excellent client relations and communication abilities.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
