Job Overview: A law firm in Minneapolis, MN, is seeking a skilled Real Estate Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction contracting and development, providing both transactional and litigation support. They will advise clients on various aspects of construction law, including contract drafting and negotiation, claims management, and dispute resolution.

Duties:

  • Draft and negotiate design, construction, and development agreements across various industry sectors.
  • Negotiate EPC contracts for extensive infrastructure and energy projects.
  • Provide strategic advice on claims management, change orders, extra work, delay, and construction defect claims.
  • Support construction litigation and arbitration matters, including drafting pleadings, discovery, and motions and preparing for depositions, mediations, and hearings.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, lawyers, and third parties.
  • Produce accurate and timely work products.
  • Comply with firm policies and practices.

Requirements:

  • JD degree and admission to the MN Bar.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in construction contracting and related development.
  • Familiarity with industry form agreements (e.g., AIA forms).
  • Experience in litigation or arbitration preferred.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and research skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
  • Good business judgment and conceptual thinking.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Minnesota State Bar.
