A law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking a talented Labor and Employment/Employee Benefits Associate Attorney to join their dynamic team. The role involves providing comprehensive legal support in labor and employment matters, with opportunities for professional growth and advancement within a thriving legal environment.

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on labor and employment laws, ERISA regulations, and related statutes.
  • Draft and review legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, and agreements.
  • Provide strategic legal advice and counsel to clients on employment-related matters.
  • Represent clients in labor and employment litigation proceedings.
  • Assist in employee benefits counseling and litigation matters as needed.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on complex legal issues and cases.

Requirements:

  • Admitted to the Georgia Bar with active status.
  • 2-3 years of prior experience in a law firm or in-house legal department.
  • Preference for experience in ERISA/employee benefits counseling or litigation; willingness to learn these areas considered.
  • Strong background in general civil litigation.
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Certification in Employment Law or related field is a plus.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research databases and software.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities.
  • Commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and confidentiality.
