Associate Attorney needed for Walnut Creek office

Location:

Duties:

• Handle a variety of civil litigation matters from inception to resolution, including wrongful death, premises liability, personal injury, construction, and business disputes.

• Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.

• Conduct legal research and prepare legal arguments.

• Manage discovery processes, including propounding and responding to discovery.

• Take and defend depositions.

• Argue motions in court and attend mediations.

• Work with clients and opposing counsel to negotiate and resolve disputes.

• Collaborate with team members and contribute to case strategy.

• Manage an independent caseload while also assisting colleagues.

Requirements:

• 1+ years of civil litigation experience (newly licensed attorneys with law clerk experience are also encouraged to apply).

• Experience drafting pleadings, motions, and conducting legal research.

• Proficiency in taking and defending depositions, arguing motions, and attending mediations is preferred.

• Trial experience is a plus.

• Strong communication and advocacy skills.

• Client-focused mindset with a passion for achieving successful outcomes.

• Ability to manage a caseload independently and work collaboratively.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the State Bar of California.

Skills:

• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.

• Ability to draft legal documents, including pleadings and motions.

• Effective communication skills, both written and oral.

• Ability to take and defend depositions and argue motions.
