A prestigious law firm in New York City, NY is seeking an experienced Transactional IP and Trademark Attorney to join its Intellectual Property & Technology practice. This role offers an opportunity to work with high-profile clients across diverse industries, providing strategic counsel on intellectual property matters while collaborating with a team of legal professionals dedicated to innovation and excellence.

Duties

• Develop and implement domestic and international trademark strategies
• Conduct trademark clearance searches and filings across multiple jurisdictions
• Handle trademark prosecution, defense, and enforcement in the U.S. and globally
• Advise on trademark and copyright matters, including compliance and risk assessment
• Oversee intellectual property licensing and due diligence in corporate transactions
• Assist with copyright search, prosecution, defense, and enforcement, including DMCA-related matters
• Support litigation teams in IP-related disputes
• Collaborate with legal teams across corporate law, venture technology, franchising, advertising, antitrust, and tax to provide holistic client solutions

Requirements

• 6-12 years of relevant experience in intellectual property law, with a focus on trademarks and transactional IP
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft precise legal documents
• Excellent analytical abilities, capable of breaking down complex legal issues
• Time management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects efficiently
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients
• Sound judgment and problem-solving capabilities

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in New York and good standing with the State Bar

Skills

• In-depth knowledge of trademark and copyright laws
• Experience in IP licensing, enforcement, and due diligence
• Familiarity with IP litigation support
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and client-driven environment
• Prior in-house or non-legal work experience is a plus
